One privacy policy for our websites and apps
This privacy policy applies to our websites and our apps and games on macOS, iOS, Android, Playdate, and other platforms. The information available depends on the product, platform, and features you use. Not every product includes analytics or collects every category listed below. If a product needs additional data for a particular feature, its own notice explains that processing.
Where analytics is enabled, we use our own Telekinesis system to understand which features are useful, improve compatibility, and make our products better.
Your analytics data stays with us. No third-party analytics service receives it. Telekinesis is our own self-hosted analytics system, running on infrastructure we control. We do not send this data to third-party analytics providers, advertisers, or data brokers. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to build personal profiles.
What we collect
We measure activity rather than identify people. Depending on the app or website and the information available, an event can include:
- An event name and time, such as a page view, app launch, app becoming active or moving to the background, or use of a feature.
- On websites, the page path without query parameters or URL fragments, and the referring website's hostname only. We do not collect the referring page's full address.
- Browser family and version, operating system and version, app version, platform, and device model or type where available. Device models are model codes, not personal device names or serial numbers.
- Language and configured locale region, screen dimensions, screen orientation, and light or dark appearance. Locale region is a device setting, not a location inferred from your IP address.
- Selected nonpersonal feature details, such as a feature category or a numerical measurement. These fields must be explicitly configured.
A random event ID prevents the same event from being counted twice when delivery is retried. It identifies that event only; it is not a visitor, account, or installation ID. Information that is unavailable remains unknown.
Detailed data: 90 days
Detailed analytics events are retained for 90 days, then automatically removed by Telekinesis's scheduled cleanup. Cleanup runs hourly and when the service starts.
Daily summary statistics—such as event totals, sums, averages, and nonpersonal category breakdowns—can remain after those 90 days so we can understand long-term trends. These summaries remain until we delete the tracked app or website from Telekinesis. The 90-day limit applies to detailed events, not to all historical statistics. Test and production events follow the same retention rules.
Common tracking practices we do not use
Our Telekinesis analytics does not use:
- Analytics cookies or visitor identifiers in local storage.
- Advertising IDs, installation IDs, or account IDs to recognize you.
- Browser or device fingerprinting, or combinations of device details to recognize returning visitors.
- Cross-site or cross-app identity tracking, advertising profiles, or retargeting.
- IP addresses stored in analytics, IP-based geolocation, or GPS location.
- Full raw browser User-Agent strings, full referring URLs, URL query parameters, or URL fragments.
- Session recordings, screenshots, heatmaps, keystroke logging, or form-content capture.
- Names, email addresses, contact lists, personal device names, or device serial numbers as analytics fields.
We do not recognize returning visitors or report “unique people.” Counts describe events, not identified individuals. Ordinary network connections still require an IP address to deliver a request; Telekinesis does not save it as analytics data. This description concerns Telekinesis analytics, not separate server security logs or information you deliberately send us.
If you contact us
If you email us, we use your email address and message to respond to your request. Support correspondence is separate from Telekinesis analytics and its 90-day detailed-event retention period. We do not use support email addresses for marketing.
If you follow an external link or use a platform service, such as an app store or a payment service, that provider processes data under its own privacy policy. This is separate from our self-hosted analytics; we do not forward Telekinesis analytics data to those providers.
